When I opened different VSCode configuration files for testing, I also found that this extension disappeared. The configuration files that had it installed still exist. I haven’t tried removing it and restarting VSCode to see if I can find it again, but since the web version marketplace has also disappeared, it should be impossible to findQAQ
This is not about VS Code, it is about that the PlatformIO exstention is currently not listed in Marketplace. Therefore it can’t be installed right now.
In the mean time, I’ve cloned https://github.com/platformio/platformio-vscode-ide and ran npm run vscode:package to build the vsix and installed it. Extension itself is working fine. Maybe can add a workflow to include the vsix in the GitHub releases?

I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt to add a comment and upvote the vsmarketplace issue so the VS Code team knows it’s affecting more than one extension. Hope we can get this resolved soon!
Here same problem, few hours ago I removed the extension because some problems uploading on a board and now I’m trying to install and no extension found. I hope they will fix asap…
I was running around in circles trying to fix this in codespaces , Build the VSIX Package seems to do it thanks to copilot , might be someone needs to be replaced with AI
