yes, the program doesn’t run automatically. You have to start it yourself. Regarding your question: I’m not familiar with Pio debugging. If you want to do native programming, it may be easier to just follow Microsoft’s guide on VSCode: Get Started with C++ and Mingw-w64 in Visual Studio Code .
