Is it possible to use a Silicon labs USB Debug Adapter DEBUGADPTR1-USB in PlatformIO to debug a Mega2560 with JTAG? If so, What are the settings in the ini file?
I am currently using a Pololu ISP programmer to upload the code and it works fine.

If it’s not supported by an open-source and GDB compatible program, the answer would be no, not easily. If you find something, let us know. I couldn’t find any reference to DEBUGADPTR1-USB in avrdude, avarice or openocd.
