Pio remote commands

Hi everyone, I am new to using PlatformIO. I am having problems with the Remote development functions. I can see the list of remote devices, read the messages transmitted by the serial port of the remote devices, but what I can’t do is upload the code to a remote device.
When I try to upload the code the project is compiled and generated correctly on my local PC, but when I start uploading it to the remote device I get a notification that a file cannot be found. Apparently PlatformIO leave creating any necessary file. Below I attach a screenshot with the error.

Is the PlatformIO-core up-to-date? Please open a terminal and execute pio upgrade --dev, then retry.

Hi Max, thanks for replying. I was able to execute the commands that I needed using windows command prompt (cmd) executing the code C: \ Users \ user_name \ .platformio \ penv \ Scripts \ platformio.exe followed by the Remote Development commands, I updated PlatformIO-core but neither are the commands executed in the platformio terminal. I was able to solve in the way I tell you but now a new problem has arisen and I have a new question.

So pio remote run --target upload works when executed in the terminal, but not through the “Remove Upload” button?

No, I did not run pio remote run --target upload using code, I just used the remote upload button. I do not think it is a problem with the command, because the Remote Devices and Remote Monitor functions do work correctly, that is, I am able to see the remote device and connect to it to show the messages through the serial port, I can interact with the remote device communicating by serial port, what I can’t do is program it. As I understand the error in the image that I put, the problem must be that the platformio is not creating a file necessary for programming, and therefore this file is not found.
It says exit code 1. Where can I see the platformio error codes? I have searched about error codes but I have not found anything concrete

Sadly the error is too generic to make sense out of it.

You can again open the CLI and post the result of executing

pio remote run --target upload -v

so that we have a verbose log, which might reveal more

ok, I am going to do that, the person who should connect the device and authorize me to access remotely lives in India. He wakes up into about 6 hours (2:00 GMT, 4:00 AM in Germany). I already did the test you told me, the messages in the terminal are the same. I attach a photo below so you can see them, I mark the code line in green. Is there an address in which a .log file is generated with details of the operation to be able to send it to you?

  • does the behavior change if you create the project in a folder containing no spaces? (The current path includes "Remote Test")
  • does the behavour change if you run pio remote run --force-remote -t upload in the project directory?

I already did the tests you suggested me and they did not work. In the first, I delete the space in the path and it keeps giving me the same error, the second test did not run correctly either.
