I want to build a marlin configuration but there is no platformio project task bar that shows up. I cannot find a way to build my project at all.

First things first… have you installed the PlatformIO VSCode extension?

If so, do you get the bottom icon on the sidebar in the screenshot (the PlatformIO alien head icon)?

If not, perhaps there is an error in the console? Are there any errors when you have a look at Help -> Developer Tools
