As an FYI
I got an Espressif ESP32-D0WD-V3 which I had problems connecting my MacBook Air M2.
I normally connect my ESP modules to my Caldigit TS4, and in general does not have a problem with it.
With the ESP32-D0WD-V3 i got an “ERROR Running command failed: Failed to connect to ESP32: No serial data received” no matter what I did.
I tried with the SiLabs driver and without it. The board is recognized as /dev/tty.SLAB_USBtoUART or /dev/tty.usbserial-0001.
Connecting the board directly to my MacBook using and USB-C to USB-A convert solved the problem (just spend 2 weeks trying to get this to work).
This is just an FYI if someone else runs into a similar problem. There is a USB port problem with the Caldigit TS4.
