Learning how to debug Arduino with ST-LINK V2

Hello all, I hope you are all doing well.

I have just purchased an ST-LINK V2 and was hoping that the learning curve from never debugging wouldn’t be too bad. But it’s actually really difficult for me. I am having trouble finding any documentation on the steps needed to be taken in order to start the debugging process. I only have purchased and acquired the ST-LINK V2. But I am completely lost how to track variables or even add breakpoints.

If anyone could help I feel like this could be a beneficial public thread for others to see if needed.

I can not find anything online for these that helps whatsoever. I also may not be educated enough on this topic. Did not think it would be this difficult to use.
