It would be great, amazing, awesome (insert your preferred adjective here) to have “out of the box” support for NXP MCUxpresso SDK, including FreeRTOS for the FRDM development boards. This would give developers IDE options other than Eclipse. Although an Mbed framework exists for these boards, porting NXP supplied driver code has been problematic, and sometimes just using the existing RTOS + code base is the lower costs/lower pain path forward. However, going back to Eclipse after spending the last 3-4 months in VS Code + Platformio feels like I’ve taken a time machine back to 1996 - it physically hurts.
