The framework-espidf repository needs to be updated to the latest 4.4 release. It has been out for 9 days now, and I’m not sure who to contact in order to get it updated to the latest revision.
Issues regarding ESP32 go into GitHub - platformio/platform-espressif32: Espressif 32: development platform for PlatformIO. Just 5 days ago they upgraded to ESP-IDF v.4.3.2 (Releases · platformio/platform-espressif32 · GitHub). And regarding 4.4, there is already Support for IDF 4.4 release · Issue #710 · platformio/platform-espressif32 · GitHub. So, it’s already being tracked and updates can be gotten from there.
