ESP32 Arduino Core 3.x and PlatformIO status

Hi,
as we can see here, PlatformIO doesn’t support Arduino Core 3.x currently.

Is there a way to “enable Arduino Core 3.x” feature in my project without the official support from PlatformIO?

I know that “platform_packages” may help on this, but what is the correct way to do it?

Thanks

Take a look at the community platform pioarduino.

if making it working is that easy that a simple fork made it…
why PlatformIO is asking for a contract to Espressif that Espressif doesn’t accepted?

I mean, this means that PlatformIO asked too much money for it, am I wrong?

See Support Arduino ESP32 v3.0 based on ESP-IDF v5.1 · Issue #1225 · platformio/platform-espressif32 · GitHub

that’s the issue I linked initially but does not answer my post.

It is much more work than a simple fork!

This can only be answered by PlatformIO and/or Espressif. However, it is unlikely that either of them will do so.

I think we should not extend the discussion to this forum.
Everything is already in the GitHub issue mentioned above.
