Controlling Servo With Dial

I have a radiolink and I am hoping to use the dial (channel 8) to control a couple of servos with an Atmega 2560.

I was wondering if there was some template code I could use to get started? Ideally I would like to speed up the rate at which the angle changes for big adjustments and slow it down for minor ones. Any advice would be much appreciated! I’m a total NOOB!
