Could you share somewhere these warnings? Does it work if you remove ~/.platformio/penv?
I installed Python 2.7 with the installer for macOS from the python website,
deleted penv, now it works. Thank you.
I have no output for install with brew, but there were some warning that brew is
not compatible with macOS Catalina in the moment.

Great! Yes, it was strange if you run pio home and OS aborts operation. It means Python/related libraries are broken.
