I want to edit and asm for mcs-51 on Ubuntu, ask for toolchain recommendation.

All Intel MCS51 projects in PlatformIO use sdcc as their compiler, which also contains sdas8051 and as the assembler, sdld as the linker and ucsim_51 as the simulator. See e.g. here.
