Is there any support for this chipset? This is a round 2.8 inch display from China, that I would like to write my own firmware for.
PlatformIO is “just” a front end to VSCode; it doesn’t support any chips itself. It usually wraps someone else’s projects to do the real work.
”display from China” is almost redundant. There may be a display that ISN’T from China, but they’re rare.
Waveshare sells an S3 board with a 2.8 round LCD using the ST7701. I made a small project that worked great with ESP-IDF, which PlatformIO can edit and build. Adafruit has a similar one, I think. Of course, since you’re writing your own support, that’s up to you. It’s just plain C/C++ as far as PlatformIO is concerned.
Depending upon what OS, SOC, VDU, etc. is in use, it can range from easy to hard.
