I’m in my 80s. Started working on computers at the Nevada Test Site in the mid 60s. Worked on the Varian r620i. Grew up with microprocessors. Starting with the 4004 (as I recall). Wrote lots of code in assembly and Pascal. Fooled around with Basic. Minimal Fortran exposure. Spent 20+ years as a first responder and software engineer in the nuclear industry.
Retired in 2000. Lost touch with PCs except for email and internet stuff.
Was introduce to Arduino when a friend asked for some help with a project. Used the Arduino IDE for awhile until I discovered DroneBot Workshop and was introduced to PlatformIO. I have been trying to get it to work reliably for some months now, but I am way over my head.
