Terminal disappears

PlatformIO V5.2.5 in VSCode V1.65.0 (Mac Universal).

When I click the terminal icon in the PlatformIO status bar at the bottom of the VSCode window, a terminal is displayed and then disappears about a second later.

If I start a build, a terminal is displayed and remains visible after the build, but if I attempt to type in it, it disappears.

Suggestons?

Found it.
There was an errant exit in one of my bash initialization files (left over from trouble-shooting the “Can’t determine your shell environment” issue).
