`target halted due to debug request` I can't type anything into the serial monitor

Hi all, I made a project for the B-G431B-ESC1 board (supported by PlatformIO thanks to Owen Williams, the man). I just tried to upload one of the examples provided in the SimpleFOC github repo specific to this board ([link])(Arduino-FOC/B_G431B_ESC1.ino at master · simplefoc/Arduino-FOC · GitHub). It doesn’t work. I see target halted due to debug request, and that seems like it’s key. Was wondering if it has anything to do with the version of STLink running on the board: when I plug in the board to my computer, I see a text file saying “Version: V2J40M27”.

Really, really need someone’s help to deciphering this gibberish! Thank you in advance to any helpful souls!
