?paid subscription hell? --- and the kicker is the devices support is needed dont work

i find this aggravating!!! basically peddling rubbish

i want -> * Local Debugging

the rest of this is utterly useless to me…
why do we need a subscription to use debugging in platformio? why is there no support for …
Error: Currently, PlatformIO does not support debugging for Arduino Mega or Mega 2560 ATmega2560 (Mega 2560).

i used the subscribe to remove errors and see if i could get it to work with my cmsis-dap adapter after following the guide for its support and i get the above message.

ever buy a loaf of bread and then had to pay to to eat each slice?

This is what I suspected. Why would I commit to a year’s ‘subscription’ of almost $120 ($10/month) for ‘free’ software to debug an Arduino board that I paid $27.50 for?

The IDE and unified debugger look nice, but I’m struggling to come up with a reason to pay for this. Subscription models of paying for things get you locked in for at least a year, and then when people hit problems (as you have discovered), there’s no recourse. It’s basically hostage-ware.
