Have you concidered the ability to donate in bitcoins?
Certain other projects do use this, e.g. gnu octave (link here).

HI,

Concerning bitcoin, I am just a user.

For the bitcoin transaction itself, you do not really need a service, you just create a bitcoin wallet and provide its address.
To exchange the bitcoins back to a currency you can use, you do need a service, but I think what serive is best for you depends on where you are and your local currency.

I propose to contact the GNU people and ask them how they do it.

BTW. I’ve been testing out platformio since two days. I’m very impressed so you do can expect a donation of mine coming your way. :slight_smile:
