Not reproducable for me.
$ pio lib --global install u8g2

Can you open a PIO Terminal and execute the same command as I did?

In addition to what Max asked you to test, how exactly are you trying to install u8g2
, as it seems you’ve specified a specific version of it, but not done it via a lib_deps
parameter of your platformio.ini

I don’t see why an error should occur… It starts downloading but then crashes, huh.
- is any antivirus or firewall software blocking the download
- do you have enough free space on the drive?
