Atom not starting

I downloaded and installed PlatformIO IDE yesterday onto my Windwos computer. I was able to work through the simple example and upload the “Blink” project to the Arduino Uno.
This morning I powered up my computer and when I click the “Atom” shortcut nothing happens.

I even tried copying the execution string from the Atom shortcut to a command window but again nothing happens, the command simply returns to the command prompt.

Any ideas what has happened here and how to fix it.

Hm… It sounds very strange. Try this:

  1. Deinstall Atom text editor.
  2. Install the latest stable version from http://atom.io
  3. Install this package Sunsetting Atom | The GitHub Blog

I followed steps 1 & 2 and now Atom is working again with PlatformIO IDE. I tried a reboot of the PC and it appears that Atom still works. Hopefully the problem is now fixed.
